Friends,

Doug Daulton
We are happy once again to welcome you to NEONCON; Las Vegas’ biggest and best gaming convention. This year, we return to the Palace Station Hotel & Casino from Thursday, November 5th through Sunday, November 8th, 2009. Over the last two years, we’ve operated in a bit over 9,000 sqft on average. This year, we expand to the full 20,000 sqft of the Grand Ballroom. In addition to the Grand Ballroom, we’ll be running special events in two hospitality suites and the Bonkerz Comedy Club. In short, we are taking over Palace Station for the weekend!
What are we going to do with all of this added space? I am glad you asked. First, the majority of the new space is dedicated to The Bazaar, our dealer/exhibitor hall. So many folks asked us for this, that we had to add it to the 2009 schedule. The Bazaar will be open from 10AM -6PM on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. If you are interested in opening shop in the Bazaar, you will find more information here.

Have you attended an unconference (WordCamp, BarCamp, SXSW, etc.) in the past? If so, you have an idea of what to expect from the other new addition to our family — GameCamp; a series of attendee-generated seminars and workshops which you help create and run. The core theme of GameCamp will be game design in all of its guises. If you are interested in presenting at GameCamp, you will find more information here.

What of the Hospitality Suites and Bonkerz Comedy Club? Well, at least one Suite will be dedicated to the return of Novus Ordo Seculorum. GenCon alumni know NOS as THE Cthulhu event of that show. We were happy to have NOS in the house for 2007, but schedules prevented a return performance in 2008; not so this year. Prepare to go mad with Mr. Shiny and his bag of tricks. We have plans for the other Suites as well, but are not ready make any announcements … yet.
As for Bonkerz, on Saturday evening, it will be transformed into a dark and seedy nightclub and home to clans of vampires. Smoke, house music, Brujah, Noseratu and Ventrue. What’s not to lust? Get ready for this very special event brought to you by the Las Vegas Camarilla and White Wolf Games.
Of course, the main game hall will be full of great RPGs like the Pathfinder Society from Paizo; Living Forgotten Realms and Living Eberron from WotC, Godsend Agenda and Hellas from Kephera, Dogs in the Vineyard from Lumpley Games, Spirit of the Century from Evil Hat and much more. In addition to RPGs, D. Garry Stupack of DDM Guild returns to run our sanctioned D&D Minaitures tournaments. And, of course, no NEONCON would be complete without a rousing Starfleet Battles Tournament.
There is so much more in the works. I wish I could share it all with you now. However, we are still working out the fine points. As new events are confirmed, we will post them on our blog. If you would like to recieve email update, you can subscribe to our newsletter using the signup form in the sidebar to the right.
Before I go, I will leave you with a little teaser. Horror. Lots and lots of horror. Just try and keep your sanity. I dare you. Until next time, keep defeatin’ evil!
See you November 5th!
